I have found that discussing this with the drivers of these vehicles is not an effective solution. One of the most commonly used arguments is that buying custom exhaust systems is completely legal. Laws are broken every day with legally purchased items. I can legally buy a handgun. That doesn`t mean I can steal from convenience stores with impunity. In addition, the city`s noise code states that cars weighing 10,000 pounds or less must not emit sounds that a person can hear more than 150 feet away. For heavier vehicles and motorcycles, the distance is 200 feet. I don`t know if it`s because emissions testing is only done by OBD-2 and not much more now – but I`ve noticed a massive increase in trucks, motorcycles and small Honda citizens over the last 3 years – and they`re doing it intentionally to backfire – there`s a guy who had a Honda downgraded that you can tell she deliberately turned against it as hard than if a shot had been fired. It`s great to see a site like this. I live in a small town in northern New England where monster trucks roar through the city all winter, and the same trucks, plus a few arrow cars and especially lots of pigs running through the city in spring, summer and fall.

I mentioned to Sergeant Raines about a week earlier that Sheriff Thomas was going door-to-door, and while he was on my porch, we saw four cars in a row driving past my house, and one of those arrow cars drove by and I asked the sheriff if there was anything he could do about it. I`ve been riding since I was 18. Motorcycle and always found the big slippers with their annoying noisy motorcycles. Why would they want to draw more attention to their ugly self? Don`t give me that loud whistles save lives. Safe driving saves lives. It is prudent to respect speed limits, wear a helmet and do not wheelie in the middle of the road. Motorcyclists often don`t observe any of this.

In fact, we decided to sell our house because of this problem. I asked one of the officers here why no tickets were issued for violating the noise ordinance, and he said that the people driving these cars could not afford to pay the ticket anyway. ????? Now we write posts based on who can afford them? Interesting. We live in a historic neighborhood and no one gives a flying rat`s ass. But the law does not require law enforcement to issue speeding tickets, nor does it require police cars to be equipped with decibel meters. Yes, I am with you! I sometimes fantasize about how the world could be different and peaceful if humanity had somehow bypassed dirty fossil fuels and internal combustion engines and instead further refined wind and solar power. People had been using windmills for centuries – and they were conscious of placing structures and dwellings to maximize the benefits of the sun! Our process as a country was unfortunately delayed when Reagan intervened. But, fortunately, the Obama administration has helped revive the development of renewable energy. Now it is more common to see electric cars.
Hopefully, humanity can finally get rid of noise one day. The rich never suffer from these low lives. That`s why they always vote to protect and fund (at your expense) bastards/deadbeats/lowlife/mooches/illegals. They can purify their conscience in their ivory tower by letting you (hard-working citizens) pay/fund/suffer these people and their disrespectful, third world behavior. I finally had a chance to speak with Morehead Police Chief Turner. I asked him again about noisy bikes and cars. He said he was waiting for me. He said I was the only one complaining about motorcycles. I replied that it might be because they knew nothing would be done. Then he said: “It was not a priority for them, that there are more important things than motorcycles without mufflers.” So you`re not safe when you get off? Your horn not working? If motorcycles were safer (and quieter) than cars, would you still drive? I`m exhausted from lack of sleep because of these unruly and ruthless punk asses. Where is the parenthood? I know my parents would NEVER allow me to drive around the neighborhood in a vehicle that scares you and keeps families awake.
With Covid and working from home, it`s even worse. I`ve been on conference calls when people have asked me what that loud noise is. It`s pathetic!! Countless times I have spoken to the mayor and police chief of my city and nothing has changed!!! I do my job and adhere to the established rules and guidelines. Why do the police turn a blind eye and do nothing? I`m tired of excuses. I`m lying in bed at 6:30 in the morning and all you hear are noisy silencers. I am very sad about that. I grew up in the `60s and `70s in a city where noisy vehicle ordinances were regularly and strictly enforced, and when I moved to Washington State and heard that there was obviously NOTHING to do here about noise pollution from boom cars, noisy bikes, and even louder “sport” car exhausts (“my car is tiny, but my noise is enormous! “), I was very surprised. And don`t even let me start with the leaf blower rollers, chopped saw ogres, high-powered washing enemies, 7-hour lawn mowers, and the rest of the “What can I buy, it`s STRONG!” crowd.
After years of enduring these thunderous noise polluters and their deliberate disregard for everyone`s right to peace or tranquility, I have come to conclusions similar to those of the author of this post; Unless there is a concerted outcry from the majority of the population (or a small group of very angry and influential wealthy people), the rest of us will have to invest in our own forms of noise control and noise suppression. Thunderbeaters are people who feel betrayed by life and don`t believe the world is paying enough attention to them. They find satisfaction in their ability to irritate and annoy others with noise pollution, and they will not change unless laws are enforced. And since the police show no interest in getting involved, the only solution I`ve ever found for a good night`s sleep is the combination of noise cancellation and good hearing protection in the form of an air filter that drowns out the buzzing of zombie drones and earplugs that give me the deep rest I need for a deep sleep. It`s like Covid. Yes, I would much rather live without a mask. But I`d also rather LIVE wearing a mask than get sick and die without a mask. Until the world really cares about itself and others, I wear a mask.
Similarly, yes, I would much prefer the free live earplugs, but until there is a public outcry against noise pollution, an air filter and earplugs keep my ears safe and my sleep long and peaceful. It`s also worth noting that Florida`s new regulations also include noisy exhaust systems and rattling mufflers. These are usually spare parts that car owners install. It`s the same in my neighbourhood. Clattering on my windows, arrow cars, no motorcycles and silent cars. No one here seems to care. Over the past few months, I`ve been trying to figure out why there are so many vehicles in Carteret County that are so noisy. For example: motorcycles without silencers; passenger cars and trucks with modified exhaust systems that make them noisier; and those popular boom cars. We all know that these vehicles were deliberately built this way. I lived near the airport and I swear the PLANES flying over my building weren`t as loud as some of those cars and bikes with straight pipes. It`s literally crazy to me that this kind of noise pollution isn`t taken seriously.
I`m a Pisces and we`re known to be caring and empathetic people by nature, but these sociopathic cockroaches bring out a side of me that I never wanted to bring out.
